Food Waste Control
We stop food waste
According to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, the statistics surrounding food waste are alarming. Each year, approximately one-third of the global food production is lost or wasted. This amounts to around $680 billion in industrialized countries and $310 billion in developing countries. At Foodex, we take proactive steps to combat food wastage through various measures implemented in our operations. These include adhering to the FIFO (first in, first out) method of food storage, ensuring proper storage practices, calculating and managing inventory days on hand, incorporating versatile menu items, considering food seasonality, providing training to our staff on reducing food waste, and conducting a waste audit.
Empower employers
At Foodex, we strongly believe in empowering our staff, as we recognize their crucial role in delivering exceptional services to our valued clients. We go beyond considering them as mere employees, ensuring they truly feel like integral members of our business. To achieve this, we have implemented various approaches. These include granting them autonomy over their assignments, equipping them with necessary resources, offering constructive feedback, valuing and implementing their ideas and input, acknowledging and appreciating their hard work, and fostering open communication to collectively share and understand the company’s vision.
Students training
Foodex training programs provide valuable learning and developmental opportunities specifically designed for students in Tanzania. These programs aim to enrich their skill set, acquaint them with their respective roles or the industry, and facilitate their growth within our company. Through our training initiatives, we prioritize mentorship and the enhancement of their abilities, which in turn fosters engagement and paves the way for their professional advancement.
